French investigators have detained six individuals following the abduction of a magistrate and her mother, a case that involved a cryptocurrency ransom demand. The victims were discovered injured in a garage in the Drome region after escaping captivity.

Authorities confirmed the arrests of four men, one woman, and a minor. Two suspects were apprehended while attempting to flee to Spain. The magistrate's partner, who holds a leadership role at a crypto startup, received threats demanding payment in digital assets under mutilation threats.

Prosecutor Thierry Dran disclosed that 160 officers participated in the search operation. While the ransom amount remains undisclosed, the case highlights cryptocurrencies' growing intersection with high-stakes criminal enterprises.
